Build a classic Leopold-style outdoor bench using just three boards and basic tools. This simple angled bench is inexpensive, sturdy, and perfect for patios, fire pits, or backyard seating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Using a 2\u00d78 board, cut 2 long legs (33\u2033) and 2 short legs (18\u2033) with matching 35\u00b0 angle cuts on both ends.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Trim a small 1\u201d \u00d7 6\u201d triangle section from the end of each long leg to reduce the recline angle slightly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Lay out one long leg and one short leg together, flat on the bottom, and using a scrap board underneath to stabilize it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Fasten the leg intersection using 2 \u00bd\u201d screws or 3\u20134\u201d bolts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Repeat to create a second leg assembly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Cut and install a 45\u201d seat board (2\u00d710) between the short legs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Cut and attach a 48\u201d backrest board (2\u00d76) to the long legs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Sand edges and apply an outdoor finish if desired.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
