It’s week 3 of the Spring ORC 2022. This year marks the 10th anniversary with an amazing partner in Apartment Therapy<\/a>. So far, we’re making incremental progress at a snails pace (our household, including myself, was hit with a stomach bug all week). The sci-fi vision has taken a back seat, but hoping by week 5 and 6, we can get this rolling. So, this update will be brief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you came here from the ORC site<\/a>, hello! I\u2019m Sanju Patel. By day, I work behind a desk, typically crunching numbers. By night, you can find me in a garage. My wife and I purchased a home in Texas 4 years ago \u2013 a quick close without costly bells and whistles. Ceiling rail update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good news, we were able to finish building out the ceiling rails! We have the entire process laid out as a reel on our Instagram<\/a> page. We just have one step left and that is attaching the rails to the ceiling using lag bolts. I’ll be honest, finding and aligning the joists can take much longer than expected so that’s where we’re held up for now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epoxy application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is a corner of our garage where we intend to build custom cabinets. Before building the cabinets, we need to clear it out and pour epoxy. The hope is we can do it this week. We’ll need to etch the floor and thinking about using a diamond grinding wheel. I would try the entire garage, but wanted to test out it’s resilience in this small area. More to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
